Sometimes we only know how important something is to us when we lost it. Other time, loosing something makes you realize how insignificant it is in the scheme of things.
Back in my war days, (I am proud to say I have retired successfully) I use to secretly visited one of the top clans in the kingdom. Being the only chick in the clan, naturally I 'enjoy' the undivided attention of all the ham sup members in there. The owner of the clan is a really nice chap named Jimbo (of course this is not his real name). One day his clan was under attack (this is a war game after all) and all was lost in a night. I was there when it happened. Jimbo was devastated. It affected his personal life to a small extent. We had a long 2-3 week battle which we eventually won. The next logical step was to rebuild the clan. However things are never the same with Jimbo anymore. His commitment to the game dwindles. Slowly members leave one by one and the clan is no longer top. I stayed to help and I often encourage him back to his old level of activeness. You see, I wanted the clan to reclaim its top position in the glory days and I thought it is the same thing as Jimbo wants. I don't understand how he can let it all just go like that?
Then I lost my Line account to Ah Beng. You see, I was very proud of my sticker collection and I zealously collected them. When my Lion number got recycled and possessed by Ah Beng, I lost my entire collection together with my account. It turns out Line stickers don't follow phone numbers. Sure you can have an account registered and when you change your smartphone the stickers will follow you as long as you USE THE SAME PHONE NUMBER. When it happened to me, I walked around in a haze alternating between anger and sadness. The world is unfair. After 2 weeks, I came to terms I will never get back my sticker collection and given I am now in Koala Land region, our sticker collection suck balls. Later, I accepted it's not my life's mission to collect all the stickers and the existing stickers that I have as just as good as the collection I'd lost. I was even grateful that I had declined sticker presents as some of my friends know how much I love the stickers and wanted to purchase for me as gifts. Thank God it didn't happen. While I still like and download stickers, I believe I have curb my unholy fixation with it. However I will still convert you to Line if I can. How can anyone NOT use Line. It's best thing!!! You can do everything with it! It is Whatsapp combine viber combine facetime combine talkbox!
Ahem ~ Sorry, lari topic...
Anyway... I have more appreciation for Jimbo after what I have been through and it is very likely the downfall of his empire is probably a good wake up call to him to re-evaluate his life and where he should invest his time/effort. Although I am really sad to see the death of the clan, I am happy for those who have decided to move on beyond the game. I also had the foresight of moving them to Line and although some of us no longer play this game, we still keep in touch.
